SF Studios to distribute StoryZoo to the Nordic market

27 mars 2020 - Senast uppdaterad 7 maj 2020

Nordic distributor SF Studios has acquired the Nordic rights to StoryZoo, a Dutch animated series designed to help young children learn English. The deal covers StoryZoo Season 1 & 2 (26×11’) and 13 Music videos for distribution in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

All content will be launched on SF Studios’ SVOD platform SF Kids in the end of the year and will be available for other platforms after that. It will also be available through SF Studios Home Entertainment.

StoryZoo follows a trio of animals: a monkey, an English-speaking parrot and a storytelling bear. The series is aimed at children aged between two and six and is designed to let them get in touch with the English language in a playful way, with the parrot repeating phrases said by the monkey in the local language.

StoryZoo is produced and distributed by the Amsterdam-based company of the same name, which was founded by Johannes Gropp, formerly of Sony Pictures Entertainment and 2waytraffic International, in 2015.

“We are happy to sign this deal with SF Studios and to make StoryZoo available to the Nordic market. After the BeNeLux, the German speaking territories and the UK, the Nordics are the next puzzle piece in Europe to bring StoryZoo to the kids. We see a great match for our playful learning series and SF Studios is the ideal partner to make StoryZoo also a success in the Nordics”, says Johannes Gropp, founder and CEO of StoryZoo.

“StoryZoo is an entertaining and warm series, and most important educational, which is something that we are focusing on at the moment”, says Viktoria Johansson, Kids Acquisition Manager at SF Studios.

About StoryZoo
StoryZoo is a feel-good animation series, with an educative foundation. StoryZoo is produced and distributed by the Amsterdam-based company of the same name, which was founded by Johannes Gropp, formerly of Sony Pictures Entertainment and 2waytraffic International, in 2015.

StoryZoo is a magical book which opens every episode, and makes the joyful animation figures Toby the Monkey, Pepper the Parrot, and Bax the Bear magically appear. The very wise and calm Bax reads to the viewers, making Toby and Pepper go on a new adventure each time. Since Pepper only speaks English, Toby, as well as the children at home, learn the English translation of many words and short sentences.
